Origin

Lenny is a minor character in the "Toy Story" franchise. He is a friendly wind-up binoculars toy with unique swirly lenses. Despite his limited mobility, Lenny compensates with a vivid imagination and a great sense of humor.

In the original "Toy Story", Lenny stands out as one of the pioneering toys to go into the open room, responding to Woody's signal that it was safe to do so. Another scene finds Lenny at the staff gathering right before Andy's incoming birthday bash. A twist in plans surprises him, as the celebration was moved up a week earlier than expected. As the birthday guests arrive, Lenny, along with other toys, rushes to the window to check the size of the presents, fearing potential replacement by larger toys. His anxiety deepens when Sarge and his battalion report on Andy's incoming gifts.

In a subsequent scene, Lenny plays a role in surveillance as Buzz uses him to see what Sid is doing with his toys in the backyard. Lenny warns the other toys about Sid's planned destruction of the Combat Carl toy. When Woody accidently drives Buzz out the window, everyone assumes it was on purpose, however, Lenny believes Woody, even when the majority of toys question Woody's motives as he clutches Buzz's fractured arm from Sid's bedroom window.

When the family's relocates, Lenny becomes a part of the misguided mob that believes Woody is endangering RC, leading to a collective decision to cast Woody out of the moving truck. This mistake becomes evident when Lenny spots Woody and Buzz, riding RC and racing toward the truck, carrying Sid's rocket.

Lenny's part in the sequel involves assisting Hamm in searching for Woody's hat and participating in the collective concern of being sold during a yard sale. When Woody's abduction by Al McWhiggin causes panic among the toys, Lenny is as worried as the others.
