Shards are vital objects in Disney Speedstorm. They are character fragments that are necessary to unlock and upgrade Racers and Crew Members. Shards are unique to each character and cannot be interchanged.

Racer Shards

How to obtain Racer Shards

Racer Shards are available in the Shop:

• The Golden Pass rewards (for free or for Tokens);
• Season Boxes that contain Shards for Seasonal Racers (purchasable for Tokens or Season Box Credits);
• Upgrade packs or bundles (buying Racer Shards in their dedicated section for Tokens);
• Universal Box that contains Shards for all Racers (purchasable for Season Coins);
• Daily Special Offers (buying Racer Shards for Season Coins at the bottom of the page).

Apart from the Shop, these options are also available:

• While progressing through Starter Circuit and Season Tour, players are able to get Racer Shards for different Racers.
• Some Limited Events can contain Racer Shards (especially Racer Boost);
• Reaching a certain rank in Ranked Multiplayer provides Racer Shards;
• Regulated Multiplayer provides Racer Shards.

The number of Shards necessary to unlock and upgrade Racers

• Total number of Shards required to get to level 50: 200 Shards.
• Total number of Upgrade Coins required to get to level 50: 114010 Upgrade Coins.

Supercharge Shards

Supercharge Shards or Evolution Shards are a game mechanics that allows players to upgrade Racers further after they have reached Level 50. Supercharged Racers are able to increase their performance gameplay-wise, becoming more competitive. Each Racer receives 2 Supercharge levels:

• Enhancing their Unique Skills
• Enhancing their Nitro

Players can collect more than 20 Shards without upgrading the Supercharge level.

Crew Shards

Crew Shards allow players to unlock Crew Members and use them to amplify Racer's statistics. Depending on the rarity, Crew Members can affect 1, 2 or all of the statistics. The extent of the effect depends on the level of the Crew Member, that is why Shards are necessary to increase that level.
