Origin

Sven is a major character in Disney's "Frozen" franchise. He is a reindeer and a loyal companion of Kristoff, and the duo is never separated. Sven and Kristoff, once adopted by trolls in the Valley of the Living Rock, grew up together and established their own ice business. When Queen Elsa accidentally triggers an eternal winter, Sven and Kristoff join forces with Princess Anna to reach Elsa's Ice Palace and end the curse. Facing challenges like wolves and a broken sled, Kristoff thinks about leaving but then pretends to be persuaded by Sven to continue for Anna's sake (as Kristoff always makes voiceplays imitating Sven's words as if the reindeer can talk).

After consulting Grand Pabbie for a cure to Elsa's curse, Kristoff leaves Anna in Hans's care but returns upon realizing his true feelings. Sven supports Kristoff's decision to rescue Anna, even facing dangerous icy fjord. The true act of love, Anna's sacrifice, thaws the curse, restoring summer. Sven receives a Medal of Honor, Kristoff becomes the Ice Master, and Elsa reclaims the throne.

In "Frozen Fever", Sven assists in preparing for Anna's birthday, dealing with mischievous Snowgies.

In Olaf's "Frozen Adventure", Sven helps Olaf find a new tradition for the sisters' Christmas celebration.

In Frozen II, Sven, along with the team, embarks on a journey to the Enchanted Forest, helping to stop the war between Arendelle and the Northuldra. He is part of Kristoff's song "Lost in the Woods" where he starts singing by himself for the first time and prompts Kristoff to join. During the musical number, there's a scene where 3 reindeer that look like Sven are shown behind Kristoff which is a reference to the iconic image for Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".
