Regulated Multiplayer is a game mode in Disney Speedstorm, part of the Limited Events, that focuses solely on skill without Racer upgrades. It is a leveled playing field where only driving matters:
- All Racers are set to the exact same Upgrade Level.
- All racers are set to the exact same Star Level.
- Crew Members are not active.
Regulated Multiplayer events also have some "Guest Racers" available, providing a great way to try out other Racers, even if players do not yet have them unlocked.
Starting from Season 11, players are required to have upgraded the Racer they wish to use to at least level 30 in order to race with them,[1] excluding Guest Racers.
Regulated Multiplayer Points & Rewards
There are no Ranks or Leagues in Regulated Multiplayer, but there are Regulated Multiplayer Points which players earn by completing Regulated Multiplayer races. The finishing position and current amount of Regulated Multiplayer Points determines how many a player earns each race.
Earning enough Regulated Multiplayer Points helps players progress through milestones which grants them rewards, including Multiplayer Coins and cosmetics. Regulated Multiplayer events are not tied to a Season like Ranked Multiplayer so when an event ends, players' Regulated Multiplayer Points are reset to zero which allows players to earn a considerable amount MP coins within a short period of time.
Matchmaking
Matchmaking works similarly to Ranked Multiplayer but, in this case, is purely based on the player's current Regulated Multiplayer Points total, meaning the system will always try to match players with a similar Regulated Multiplayer Points total.
