Max is a Crew Member in Disney Speedstorm. It is an Epic Crew Member which means it gives Bonus % to all Racer statistics (depending on the Crew Member star level), allows the player to start the race with 1 skill and amplifies the unique skill while used (Boost, Set Sail). Max is part of the The Little Mermaid Collection.

Origin

Max is a supporting character in Disney's 1989 animated feature film The Little Mermaid. He is Prince Eric's Old English Sheepdog who loves and follows his owner and whom Eric tried to save from a burning ship right before drowning and getting rescued by Ariel.

In the opening scene, Max makes his first appearance aboard Prince Eric's ship. He stays there while Ariel is watching Prince Eric's birthday celebration. While frolicking around, Max catches a whiff of Ariel's scent and traces her to her hiding spot. Ariel, initially scared of an unknown creature, hides, but then curiously glances back and sees panting Max's face. Instantly fond of Ariel, Max affectionately licks her cheek before being called away by Eric. When Ariel later points out how attractive Eric is, Scuttle mistakes her words, thinking she means Max, and quips, "I dunno, he looks kinda hairy and slobbery to me".

During Eric's birthday, he receives a grand statue of himself, which he subtly dislikes, with Max openly expressing his disapproval through growling. When a storm hits and sets the ship ablaze, everyone evacuates except Max, who is left trapped by the flames. Eric risks his life to rescue Max, who joyfully reunites with his owner after the shipwreck. Later, Max spots Ariel but fails to draw Eric and Grimsby's attention to her.

Later in the movie, as Ariel strikes a deal with Ursula and comes to the surface, Max excitedly rushes towards her on the beach, prompting Eric to follow. Max playfully interacts with Ariel, reassuring her with his friendliness. Despite Max's efforts, Eric remains unaware of Ariel's true identity.

As Eric prepares to marry Vanessa, Max senses her deceit and growls at her, leading to a confrontation where Vanessa kicks him to silence him. During the chaotic events that follow, Max breaks free and bites Vanessa, contributing to her defeat. Max's actions then lead to Ariel's voice being freed from the pendant.

At Eric and Ariel's wedding, Max joyfully participates, symbolizing his acceptance and happiness for the newlyweds by licking them both.
