Origin

Gilbert Goof is a Disney character and a nephew of the iconic character Goofy. Gilbert is a tall and lanky character with a similar appearance to Goofy, but he looks much younger and prefers different colors of clothing.

Gilbert, made his debut in a May 1954 comic book where he accidentally ends up at a university and causes an explosion during a risky experiment. He and Goofy later attend a TV quiz, where Gilbert struggles with a question and is sent back to kindergarten.

Throughout the late 1950s and 1960s, Gilbert appeared in various comics, often in adventures alongside Super Goof, Goofy's superhero persona. More recently, he has been seen playing soccer with Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse in comics like "The Homer" (Mickey Mouse and Friends #263, 2004).

In contrast to Max Goof, Goofy's son who is known from other forms of media, Gilbert has never appeared in animation, and he and Max have not been seen together in any official media.
