AUTO is a Crew Member in Disney Speedstorm. It is a Rare Crew Member which means it amplifies three Racer statistics (Top-Speed, Handling, Combat) and enhances one skill (Rush). It also provides an extra Loot Points % Bonus. AUTO is part of the WALL-E Collection.
Origin
AUTO is the main antagonist in the 2008 Disney/Pixar animated film WALL-E. Programmed as the autopilot on the Axiom, he de-facto runs the ship and does whatever he can to prevent it from returning to Earth.
After the Earth was left uninhabitable, the human race fled the planet onboard large starliners like the Axiom. All autopilots, including AUTO, were given a directive not to return to the planet unless it was proven sustainable for life, but the robots mistakenly took this as a directive to prevent any attempt to return to Earth at all costs. Due to this, the human race was left travelling in space, with AUTO taking effective command of the Axiom.
When an EVE unit returned from Earth with a plant indicating sustainable life, AUTO stole the plant from her and charged GO-4 with discarding it. After EVE is scanned and no plant is found, both AUTO and Captain B. McCrea declare her faulty and she is taken for evaluation. EVE was able to recover the plant, however, and the captain subsequently charged AUTO with putting the plant in the holo-detector so they could return to Earth. AUTO, believing he is following his directive, declared a return to earth unnecessary, and proceeds to stop the captain when he attempts to start the holo-detector himself. Eventually, AUTO reveals his classified directive, but the captain rebels against this, noting that the plant indicates things have changed.
Unwilling to change his direction, AUTO mutinies against the captain and attempts to finally dispose of the plant, but it is saved when WALL-E appears from the garbage chute. AUTO continues his mutiny, however, tasering WALL-E and confining the captain to his quarters. The captain and AUTO continue to battle for control, until the captain is able to activate the holo-detector, forcing the robot to tilt the ship and knock everyone down. AUTO then fights with WALL-E to turn the holo-detector off, eventually pushing the button down so hard it cracks, crushing WALL-E beneath. The captain, unwilling to let AUTO win, stands up straight and subdues the robot by turning his switch from "auto" to "manual". This causes AUTO to shut off, reverting to a regular ship's wheel which the captain uses to set course for Earth.
